The Diwali Donation Drive

Diwali is filled with family, sweets, and lights. Children especially look forward to wearing new clothes or buying new toys.
While this year hasn’t been too kind to many families, we surely can sprinkle some kindness into their lives.

Prabhat Education Foundation brings to you The Diwali Donation Drive. As you start your Diwali cleaning you will come across many items that may be of no use to you, but would mean the world to our children. All that we ask is that instead of throwing those items away, you upcycle them by giving them to us so that our children have a joyous Diwali.

Together let’s make a child’s Diwali brighter!

Dr Kapila Vatsyayan passed

Dr Kapila Vatsyayan passed away yesterday morning. She was a leading scholar of Indian classical dance, art, architecture, and art history. She was formerly a member of parliament and also served as Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Education, where she was responsible for the establishment of a large number of national institutions of higher education. She served as the founding director of the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts. She was former President of India International Centre (IIC) and an IIC Life Trustee and the Chairperson of the IIC International Research Division. She was 91.

Kapilaji was a true doyenne of the arts and culture great stature, commitment , she believed in debate, discussion and dissent and an all encompassing world view she could be fastidious with some, but at the same time a very encouraging person.

Prabhat had the privilege of having her presence at the ‘Like Us’ exhibition held in August 2019, at the India International Centre, New Delhi. May her dear soul rest in everlasting peace and may we in these times follow the exceptional path she lay down for many. Heartfelt condolences from the entire Prabhat family.

Do we need a reason to smile!

Let me introduce you to Arkam, an 11 year old young boy. He is getting his rehabilitation under the home-based programme of Prabhat. Which means he has multiple disabilities which makes it difficult for him to come to Prabhat’s Centres.

Despite all the difficulties which surround him, Arkam never stops to smile, every time you look at him he is smiling and such a contagious smile I tell you!!

When we first met Arkam, he could not sit up on his own, but today he not only sits up but also tries to engage in conversations.

As he smiles his way to learn new things, we hope you can smile without a reason today!
