Our officially published report, Inclusive e-cooking and Disability explores the intersection of disability, clean energy access, gender, safety, independence, and everyday cooking practices through an action research approach rooted in participant experiences and community engagement.
“Beyond the Appliance” explores how assistive technology transforms the lives of Person With Disabilities (PWD), moving from mere physical devices to real empowerment and systemic change for a truly inclusive society.
Our collaborative research with the MECS Programme on disability and energy access in Ahmedabad has been featured in the prestigious Voices of MECS interview series which is now published and live! This research, conducted across two phases with persons with disabilities and caregivers in Ahmedabad, explores how clean cooking technologies can enhance independence, wellbeing, and livelihoods for PwDs.
Prabhat has had the privilege of engaging with students from the National Institute of Design (NID) over the years. Their visits bring fresh perspectives, creative problem-solving, and thoughtful designs aimed at making learning and play more inclusive for CwSN.
As part of their ongoing exploration of user-centered design, NID students spent time at Prabhat, observing and interacting with children to understand their interests, abilities, and ways of engagement. Their latest project resulted in a set of thoughtfully designed play tools that enhance accessibility while making playtime fun and meaningful.
This video captures their process—immersing themselves in the children’s world, refining their prototypes, and finally presenting the end products at the center. We appreciate their curiosity, innovation, and commitment to designing with empathy.
